PADCAST 29: JEALOUS KIND

This week, Jealous Kind, a great song by Bobby Charles recorded by Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Etta James…I’ve always liked the song since I heard Joe Cocker do it a few years back. This week features Paul Tkachenko on sousaphone – please check out his website at http://www.tkachenko.co.uk for a glimpse into his multi-instrumental world – in particular, check out the instruments he’s actually invented and made himself…

PADCAST 27: PHOTOS FROM THE ROAD

Well, without much time to spare this week, I delved into iPhoto and found a bunch of pictures from gigs, on the road, some I took myself, some by others, and put together a little slideshow of them. The tune is a version of ‘Caravan’ by Duke Ellington that I recorded a while back as a B-Side to ‘You Think You’re So Damn funny, released as a single on Bronze Records a while back. Hope you enjoy!

Till next week x

PADCAST 26: PIXIE

Paddy Milner - Podcast 26
It’s nice to see people doing things positively around you, and it was great this week to see a local artist transforming a wall into a community art project. In this week’s Padcast, in which I play James Booker’s ‘Pixie’, are some of the images from this project, painted by residents of Walthamstow, London. My little effort on the wall is, rather unimaginatively on my part, the piano and hand.

Check out http://exhibitions.weebly.com/12-20—this-is-us-2012 or http://www.artcatcher.co.uk for a full report on the ‘This Is Us’ community art project, the brainchild of E17 resident artist Katja Rosenberg.

Plus please check out some James Booker if you haven’t come across him before! Genius. Not a word I like to use lightly…

Anyway, here’s the video!

PADCAST 24: JUMP INTO MY CAR

From the album ‘The Curious Case Of Paddy Milner’. Each and every week I post a new video – a new recording, tour diary, special guest performance or anything that comes into my little brain that week…

This week, I took some footage from our trip to Croatia with ‘Mum’s The Word’ charity. It was started by some friends of mine and is doing some spectacular work. We visited several orphanages, children’s homes and hospitals to deliver much needed clothes that the charity had collected in the UK. A thoroughly effective and worthwhile organisation.

Please check them out at www.mumsthewordcharity.co.uk

Till next week…
