I went into the studio in January with my trio LONDONOLA, with the quite fantastic Pat Levett (drums) and Spencer Brown (double bass). We laid down 11 tracks at Eastcote Studios, and I’m very happy with the result – an energetic live sounding set up. I’m also delighted that Jon Cleary popped in to play some  beautiful organ on a song. Jon is such a soulful musician and a wonderful human being that I’ve been very happy to get to know over the last few years. His gig at Ronnie Scott’s that week was food for the heart and soul.

Pat and Spencer played brilliantly on the album tracks, and there are some pretty heavy grooves, a mix of songwriting influences from British Rock n Roll, New Orleans, Blues and little bursts of other sound-worlds. Just a heads up at this stage! There’ll be more news and info towards the release – which will probably be in the second half of the year.  The Jawbone record is planned for April/May, so one at a time! Watch this space! x
