Paddy Plays On BBC Radio 2 James Booker Special

Very excited to record a James Booker special for the BBC Radio 2 Paul Jones show – on air TONIGHT 7pm GMT (Nov 18th 2013). You’ll hear myself and the fantastic Dom Pipkin playing a few tunes, and a great interview with legendary producer Joe Boyd who produced Booker’s seminal ‘Junco Partner’ record. The idea for the show, which I’m very grateful that the Paul Jones team embraced, is inspired by the fantastic film Bayou Maharajah: The Tragic Genius Of James Booker’, which has it’s UK premiere this saturday at The Barbican. If you’re not familiar with Booker, check him out!

If you miss the show live, you can catch it on the BBC iPlayer afterwards.

Jawbone, first gig!

We played our first gig with Jawbone to an invited audience on saturday 16th November 2013 at the Half Moon, Putney.  It was fantastic to play the songs to an audience that Marcus Bonfanti and I have been writing over the last year, and we were heartened to receive an incredibly warm welcome and great feedback.  The backbone of Jawbone, Evan Jenkins and Rex Horan have been brilliant in shaping the songs and bringing their musicianship and lovely vibes to proceedings.  We’ll be recording the album in January so please stay in touch! We’re all totally excited about the project : )
